Practical Perfection

LabWizard walks A-Level Physics students through simulations of required practicals, assessing their skills in: data collection, graphing, analysis, calculation and exam questions.

No sign-up needed to try the demo.

How it works

At every stage, students are presented with detailed feedback and tips on how to improve. Your teacher markbook shows their progress.

The screenshots below show the demo practical, g by Freefall. All 12 AQA A Level Physics required practicals are included in the full version of LabWizard.

  1. 1

    Data Collection

Take realistic readings from an on-screen version of the apparatus, just as they would in the lab.

  2. 2

    Graphing

Choose a scale, plot results, add a line of best fit, and read off gradients and intercepts.

  3. 3

    Calculation

Use the data to calculate a final value and compare it with the accepted value (percentage error).

  4. 4

    Exam Questions

Answer questions about the practical, including analysis and evaluation.

Frequently asked questions

Who is LabWizard for?

LabWizard is designed for A-Level Physics students and their teachers. It gives students the practice and feedback they need to master the required practicals, and gives teachers a markbook to track their progress.

What do students actually do?

For each practical they collect data from an on-screen version of the apparatus, plot a graph, calculate a final value and compare it with the accepted value (percentage error), and answer exam-style questions. They receive feedback at every stage.

How do I see my students' progress?

Every student's work at each stage is recorded in your teacher markbook.

Which exam boards does LabWizard support?

During the closed beta phase, LabWizard supports AQA. The other exam boards (OCR and Edexcel) will be added before the full launch.

Does it support Chemistry and Biology?

Not yet. LabWizard is currently focused on A-Level Physics, but Chemistry and Biology will be added in the future.

How much does it cost?

Pricing information will be published when LabWizard exits the closed beta phase.

Can I try it before getting in touch?

Yes. Use the free demo at the top of this page. No sign-up is needed.
